Here we have Harvards version of the food pyramid. It looks good at first glance, doesn't it.

But if you look a bit more closely it brings to a few questions to my mind. OK, first. Why is there a wine glass on the side but NO WHERE on it does it say to drink water? They are telling a society of morbidly obese people, 35% of us and 75% of us are considered OVERweight.--Harvard is stressing alcohol consumption, although in moderation but ignoring water consumpution? Is an establishment as credible as Harvard assuming that a society of seriously unhealthy people know to and ARE drinking enough water?

OK. Let's buy that one for a minute. What then stands out to me as the very obvious next issue; they are telling us to eat MORE oil than apples? MORE oil than vegetables? MORE oil than protein?

The old USDA food pyramid had "oils sparringly at the very top/least eaten section of their pyramid, but Harvard has made it the base of theirs.

I totally applaud Harvard for making exercise the base of their pyramid, I think they got it right with this, but I have to disagree with much of what else they said.

Here is what my version looks like:

You will notice that water is at the base of my pyramid. For over 10 years, I have had the pleasure of working with thousands of women and having them focus on increasing their water intake has changed the health and body of ALL of them. It has to be the base of our actions.

Then, Fruits and Vegetables! The consumption of them must be the next level of our health pyramid, I don't claim to be as smart as those at Harvard, but it just makes sense to me that if you are trying to be leaner and healthier you need MORE fruits and veggies than OIL! That is the #1 reason that I recommend Juice Plus click the Juice Plus banner at the right to learn more, it certainly isn't meant to nor does it replace eating fresh, raw fruits and vegetables but it goes a long way to ensuring that the person is getting MORE into their diet. Bottom line, eat more fresh raw fruits and vegetables to improve your bottom line!

Recently I discovered a carb controller that actually delivers on what it says it does. Please, go to www.Phase2info.com and learn about how you can eat pasta, bread and potatoes (yes, in moderation) but actually control them and the affect they have on your 'diet'. Phase 2 is the ingredient--all natural white kidney bean extract, I buy it from a product called Natrol Carb Intercept.
