Juice Plus+ : One Step in the Direction of Optimal Health
The Health & Wellness Institute is on a mission to help improve the health of the citizens of the US and those around the world who are living below their optimal level of health. One of the recommendations given by HWI is Juice Plus+®, to support the lack of nutrients that should come from an adequate intake of fruits and vegetables each day. While not a substitute for fruits and vegetables, Juice Plus+® is nutrients from dried juice that was squeezed from 7 different fruits and 8 different vegetables, thereby providing some nutritional value that is missing in most diets.
Over the years, more and more people are turning to Juice Plus+ as one way to help improve their health, while making their way toward better choices for a healthier lifestyle. Thousands of people are using Juice Plus+® and reporting positive feedback, not just from their use of the product, but in their quest for better health through improved diet, increased exercise, and avoiding unhealthy foods and beverages.
The growing health problems in the US are not a result of the lack of access to medical doctors and other health care providers, but from a lack of healthy choices. When an average American diet consists of soft drinks and fast foods on a daily, or at least regular, basis, it is easy to conclude that most Americans are not getting enough proper nutrition, namely the kind that comes from at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. The FDA has come out with new guidelines that suggest 9 to 13 servings are more adequate - probably from the depleted nutritional value in most fruits and vegetables, not to mention the added stresses that exist in the lives of most citizens (including from improper or depleted qualityof diet, water, air, and so on).
If you're feeding your body three times a day, it is only logical to assume that food is the foundation for good health. All you have to do is look at the highest average lifespan in the world to understand the importance of a plant based diet. The people of Okinawa will statistically live longer than most of us. There are two distinctions (for starters) that are common to most of those people - 1. they don't overeat. In fact, calorie restriction would be a more apt description compared to the rest of the world; and 2. An extremely high intake of natural nutrients from plants (i.e. mostly vegetables). Not only that, but their work provides them not only with physical exercise but also with the knowledge of their own meaningful contribution to their community. The people of Okinawa are just one example of how less calories, coupled with a diet that is mostly plant-based, will dramatically improve the potential lifespan. While genetics is believed to have some role, it may be safe to say that this same diet and lifestyle influences the genetics of those people and therefore gives their offspring a better chance for a longer life from the start. Of course, put them in an environment with lots of fast food and soft drinks and watch what happens! (referemce: Okinawa)
The diet that we choose has a big influence on those factors that contribute to aging, as well as the prevention of ailments, conditions, sickness, and even diseases - all of which can accelerate the aging process, as well as be responsible for a decreased lifespan through early death. This isn't to say that eating an orange each day will help keep you from dying an early death - there are many ways this could happen - but it does indicate one very important aspect to maintaining good health.
Free radicals have been said to be a big contributor to aging, as well as depleting the ability to live at an optimal level of health. Free radicals are fought with antioxidants, most all of which come from the nutrients in plants - fruits and vegetables, even more so vegetables.
So, when The Health & Wellness Institute recommends adding Juice Plus+ to your diet, it is not for the purpose of "covering all your nutrition bases", but to help you add some nutrients to improve your diet and antioxidants while you become more aware of the fact that you most likely need to start eating more fruits and vegetables, start drinking more water, getting regular exercise, in addition to eliminating the unhealthy foods and beverages that are so abundant in our society (and hence, our diets!).
If you're not living a healthy lifestyle and living at the optimal level of health, then you could benefit from adding Juice Plus+®, in addition to taking other actions as well. One step today in the direction of better health is just one step further from the increased likelihood of sickness and disease. Everyday is a chance to choose wisely and live to your full potential. How far and how great can you be if you don't have the tools, strength, mental power, energy, efficiency, and ability to express yourself fully... or at least are not be impeded by the effects of a poor diet and lifestyle?
Take a step today to start living better. The future lifespan, health care, and quality of your life and mankind's existence depends on it!
